Cruise to a Friendly Destination!

Monday 20 June 2016

In 2013, a quality label named “CRUISE FRIENDLY” was launched by the Var Provence Cruise Club in the Ports of Toulon Bay (Toulon and La Seyne-sur-Mer) and met an incredible success: 3 years later, 127 local partners are members in Toulon/La Seyne-sur Mer (+154% compared to 2013) and other ports such as Sanary-sur-Mer and Saint-Raphaël also developed the label.

The adventure of Cruise Friendly still goes on since Bandol is launching the label this summer! Who’s next?

What is the "Cruise Friendly label"?

This quality label was especially designed for the local tourism providers and storekeepers: those who decide to be part of the label agree to meet some commitments (adapting their opening hours to the scheduled calls, speaking English or at least some basic English words, offering a discount or a gift…) in order to provide the cruise passengers and crew members with the best services.

How can the cruise passengers spot the local Cruise Friendly partners?

When the cruise passengers and crew members disembark, they have the possibility to take a Cruise Friendly map at the Cruise Terminal. All the partners are on the map.

Also, the partners have to put a yellow “Cruise Friendly tag” on their shops’ windows to be easily spotted by the passengers.

How can the storekeepers spot the cruise passengers?

The cruise passengers can take a free “Cruise Friendly bracelet” at the Cruise terminal. The storekeepers are aware that the cruise passengers wear this kind of bracelet.
